Mintaka is a famous river in the most eastern part of China, in
the province of Xinxjang. The source of Mintaka is at the short
boundary line among China and Afghanistan, just at the border to Pakistan
and Tajikistan. The river collects waters at the conjunction point of
three of the world's most famous and highest mountain ranges: Karakorum,
Pamir and Hindukush. The water is taken to the Chinese
desert Gobi where it just disappears. The photos are taken at
37°15'N/75°35'E, 4000m asl, on the Karakorum Highway. More pictures
