Dear users of astro!nfo,
On 4th September 1998, the Astroinfo Society was founded in Buchs/ZH.
Before, astro!nfo was a specialized group of the
Swiss Astronomical Society.
astro!nfo's success made it necessary to found our own society - the
Astroinfo Society (note the small typographical difference between
the society and the service). Thanks to this new status, we are now in the
position to act as an independent corporate body and not as a loose collective of
individuals. This gives us some security in business affairs. (Although we
are still individuals and not a BORG collective :-)
With this common volition of the founding members and the
articles of association, Astroinfo has become a legal person. Because we already
elected the necessary bodies (committee, auditors), the Astroinfo
Society is now capable of acting. Further information about
organization and membership can be found in the
articles of association (PDF, German) The members of the founding assembly were:
Barmettler Arnold, Barmettler Roland, Brodbeck Roland, Cramer Matthias,
Heck Philipp, Meister Stefan, Nies Bernd, Plozza Stefan und
Senn Hans Martin.
You as a normal user are not affected by this
change. We will continue our service astro!nfo and provide
information about various subjects of interest to amateur astronomers.
Our goal is not to collect as many data as possible, but rather to offer contributions
written by ourselves or our users. Take AIDA, the
Astronomical Image Data Archive, as a good example how you, dear user,
can improve the offer of astro!nfo. No doubt, astro!nfo is
on the right way of success. This is demonstrated by the increasing server
statistics and the amount of email correspondence. Nevertheless there
are always things which can be made better. Don't be shy. If you have
a good suggestion mail them us.

Liebe Benützerinnen und Benützer von astro!nfo
Am 4. September 1998 wurde in Buchs/ZH der Verein Astroinfo gegründet.
Bis anhin bestand astro!nfo in der Form einer Fachgruppe und hatte
den Status einer einfachen Gesellschaft. Der Erfolg von astro!nfo legte
den Schluss nahe, astro!nfo in eine Gesellschaftsform umzuwandeln, die ihr
mehr Gewicht gibt und dem starken Wachstum Rechnung trägt. Damit kann
astro!nfo gegen aussen als eigenständige Körperschaft und nicht mehr als
Kollektiv seiner Teammitglieder auftreten.
Mit der gemeinsamen Willensäusserung der Gründungsmitglieder und den
vorliegenden schriftlichen Statuten erlangt astro!nfo seine
Rechtspersönlichkeit als juristische Person. Da auch die nötigen
Organe (Vorstand, Revisoren) bestellt sind, ist der Verein ab sofort
handlungsfähig. Alles weitere zur Organisation und zur Mitgliedschaft bei
diesem
Verein ist aus den Statuten ersichtlich, die als
PDF-Datei hier abgerufen werden können.

Der normale User von astro!nfo ist von dieser Änderung der Rechtsform
eigentlich kaum
betroffen. Wir werden weiterhin alles daran setzen, um aktuelle
Informationen aus allen
Sparten der Amateurastronomie übersichtlich zu präsentieren. Dabei geht es
nicht einfach um das Zusammentragen bereits erschienenen Informationen aus
dem Internet,
sondern vielmehr um die Er- und Bearbeitung von eigenem Material in Form von
Berichten und Bilddaten. Das rassante Wachstum der AIDA-Seiten, also unserer
Bilddatenbank,
soll hier nur als Beispiel erwähnt sein. Zweifelslos, astro!nfo ist auf
Erfolgskurs, das belegen auch die umfangreichen Abfragestatistiken. Neben
zahlreichen
Zuschriften per E-Mail geben sie uns die Gewissheit auf dem richtigen Weg zu
sein.
Trotzdem gibt es natürlich immer wieder etwas zu verbessern. Wenn Sie
weitere Vorschläge
haben, können Sie uns diese gerne
mitteilen.
